Registration Deadline: April 29, 2023
Early Birds Special

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course consists of two modules during which participants will gain knowledge applicable to crisis management and increase the effectiveness of their institution’s crisis response.

Module 1: Managing an International Crisis With an Effective Crisis Cell

This module helps participants to identify elements to put in place or that need to be improved within their own institution when a crisis involving their travellers occurs.
Thanks to an experiential approach, the live session encourages discussion and the integration of key concepts in the functioning of a crisis response. It exposes to best practices through a simulation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Improve organizational capabilities to manage a crisis effectively.
  • Gain the knowledge and know-how to implement an efficient crisis cell.

Module 2: Managing the Risks Related to Mental Health During an International Mobility Activity

Today’s travellers face many threats, and the impacts of certain events can influence their mental health. Through this module, participants will be introduced to the interpersonal skills required when managing a mental health crisis. The asynchronous sessions will permit a better understanding of mental health and learn some intervention techniques. Using scenarios, the live session will expose to practices that will contribute to the successful management of a mental health crisis.

Learning Objectives:

  • Better understand mental health and the factors that contributes to it.
  • Develop intervention skills to defuse a crisis.
